This is a shot of the famous Avenue of the Stone Animals. Most royal tombs have avenues such as this, but none are as impressive as this one. There are 12 pairs of animals, such as elephants, tigers, and horses, in both standing and prone postions. There are also six pairs of court and military officials, similar in make to the famous Terracotta Warriors. Some of these sculptures date back to 1435 and most have been restored to capture their former glory.
